CORONAVIRUS UPDATE:

The University of Miami is closely monitoring the COVID-19 global pandemic.  The University is working closely with government and public health agencies and continues to follow guidelines from the U.S. Department of State, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and the World Health Organization.  The situation remains fluid and University guidelines may evolve.  We will continue to provide regular updates.  All University advisories and links to additional resources are located on the University's designated coronavirus web page at coronavirus.miami.edu.

ABOUT OLLI at UM

For over 35 years, the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at the University of Miami (OLLI at UM) has been providing courses and social activities for its members.  Our mission, as part of the University of Miami, is to provide adults 50 years old and better with intellectual stimulation, social interaction, service opportunities, and outreach to the university  and to the greater community.  Situated within the University's Division of Continuing and International Education, OLLI welcomes all members of the community who consider learning an integral part of life.  Membership is open to all those who wish to continue their pursuit of learning.  The Institute's programs are designed to accomodate a relaxed learning atmosphere; thus, making it easy for anyone who may have been away from a formal learning environment for many years.

Classes are offered with no tests and in most cases, no homework.  They are designed to spark curiosity, encourage participation and fit a flexible schedule.  Our members are people who are interested in keeping their minds active and engaged.

  • Eligibility to register and enroll in courses at our Coral Gables location (tuition fees required)

  • Eligibility to audit University undergraduate classes (must pay an additional fee - requests processed through the OLLI office)

  • Access to the University Library System with check-out privileges at the Richter Library (Coral Gables campus)

  • FREE General admission to the Lowe Art Museum

  • Special pricing on field trips and participation in OLLI social events

  • Elegibility to participate in FREE Shared Interest Groups (SIGs/clubs 12:00 -12:50 p.m.)

  • Invitations and tickets to University special presentations

  • Eligibility to purchase a significantly discounted OLLI member, UM parking permt (fee payable at UM Parking Office)

Teach a  Course

Many of our instructors and class facilitators are volunteers! If you are a prospective instructor interested in volunteering to teach a course, please fill out our Course Proposal Form and email it to osher@miami.edu. We have a 'teach a class, take a class' policy. Our OLLI volunteer instructors can register for an OLLI class tuition-free in exchange for teaching. Join us and teach your passion!
